I recently became a member of the Southern New England Portrait Photographers Meetup Group. They are a bunch of like-minded photographers and aspiring models who get together periodically to exchange ideas, compare notes, and make fun pictures.
This past week-end was a “Trash the Dress” session with three lovely young ladies modeling wedding dresses in fun and creative ways. For real brides, a trash the dress session is a chance to get some extra usage out of their dress while having some fun and rebelling a bit against the formality of weddings.
Not every bride wants to actually ruin her dress and this was the case with our shoot. Rather than destroy perfectly good dresses for the purposes of creating art, we used the dresses as a prop for some fun shooting at the Borderland State Park in southern MA.
