Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot.

If you’re a high school senior or parent interested in doing a photo shoot like this for senior pictures, you’re in luck. Under Massachusetts law you’re not obligated to go with your school’s contracted photographer so you don’t have to get pictures just like everybody else’s. I shoot environmental portraits in an editorial style that look more like they belong in a magazine than in a yearbook, so I can make pictures that reflect your personality.

We did two looks for Valerie – one formal and one not-so-much. Working with my makeup artist Vania, we put together a formal look for her in red and played in the studio as well as outdoors. We weren’t outside for very long, but it managed to rain, clear off a bit, and then snow all in the span of about 15 minutes.

After a quick change and removing of makeup, we did a few relaxed portraits in and around the building. Her boyfriend was also along for the ride, so we did a few shots of the two of them together. They were very cute.

We did both some natural light portraits as well as some edgier strobe lighting. I joked that one of these had to be his next CD cover and he seemed to really like the idea. Sounds like an awesome idea to me.

Kim told me the story of how they met while she was taking spanish classes and Boris was one of her tutors. Apparently the tutoring sessions went well because Boris eventually moved from his native El Salvador to be here with Kim. A few years later and now they’ve got two of the cutest little ones.

All in all a great way to spend part of my Thanksgiving holiday!

Casha is in her second year at Boston College and is pretty new to modeling. Even though she had to simultaneously work with multiple photographers, she did great. She brought along her mom, although we couldn’t get her in front of the camera too!

Bill is a retired fisherman and plays the part perfectly. He brought along quite a collection of personal items that included a pipe and a fiddle. He has an infectious personality that you just can’t help but like him. He mused that he never thought he would be a model after spending all those years working the rough and dangerous job of commercial fisherman!

To round things out are a couple of more traditional type portraits of Rachel taken at a couple of locations in the mill building of the studio.

Erik WOW…..We ran into a few hurdles such as daylight… but wow, I’m VERY happy with how these turned out! Your retouching skills are superb….please LET’S WORK AGAIN!

Jessalynn and I found a day that wasn’t too terribly cold to get out and do some lifestyle portrait photography for a couple of hours in Boston’s Christopher Columbus Park.
